Join the Lunchbox Crew!
Sooo.....just what in the world is this LunchBox Crew???
Well....it's a small way in which we can all help some other eskies out! Very simply, all it amounts to is donating $1 per dog to help out in the efforts of the auction. (Though you can always donate to other worthy causes too!) What will happen is any money sent in as "lunchbox funds" will be used to buy items put up for auction! Pat has already bought and donated a significant amount of eskie/doggy items. The more money(or auction budget) she has to work with, the better these auctions can be! If we all could only do $1 per dog, per month, think of how much that can help out in these efforts!?! (You can read about where the idea for this came from farther down the page, but first are more details about what this thing is!)
You might ask, why not just donate directly to the dog(s) in need, or other worthy funds? Well....you can sure do that, and it can't hurt. However....the neat thing about the Lunchbox money is that it buys items for the auction. With constant searching(and a knack for doing it well), Pat(and others too) have been able to find some great buys on items and so can then turn around and bring in more than was spent on the items! Thus, $1 may return $1.50 or $2 in final auction bids! Soo....by offering a small bit to the lunchbox funds, we can maybe make the offering go even further! That's the neat thing about this....it stretches the value of your donation AND will help boost the quantity and variety of items on these auctions.....thus, making for great shopping and interest to bidders! All around....it's a win/win method of helping out. You only dig into your pocket-book for $1 per dog that you have......AND, the auction gets a boost in support for doing the best it can!
You can also always make an item donation to the auction as well. If you've found a great sale on some dog toys or other neat items that might be of interest, feel free to check with Pat and see if we can work it in. Sometimes you can get 50% off on some items, or even more on closeout items. If you find some....maybe buy a few neat things for the auction! By getting a bargain up front, we can turn those around into good value on the auction! Thus...if we all look for great buys, help out with the lunchbox funds, AND we keep doing our best with the auctions....hey......this can only get better!
Sooo.....how do you join the LunchBox Crew? Well....you can decide what amount you want to donate. Whether a one time donation, a monthly offering or what. Remember....it doesn't matter if you've got eskies or not....any dog can be considered.....we'll even accept cats in the count(any animals you've got actually)......just $1 per dog(cat, other animal) and see what you've got. For me(Michael), that would be $2, as I've got the two dogs. If I wanted to stretch that out into a monthly help for the auctions....that would ONLY be $24 for one year's worth of help! Thus, if you can send in a total for 12 months figuring, that would be ideal, but even a one time offering($1, $2 or whatever)....it ALL adds up!!! And...all you have to do is send it to Pat at her address below...note that it's for the Lunchbox Funds for the Auction. She'll use it for "buying goodies" for the auction! Trust us....that's what it WILL be used for!!! Soo....dip into your lunchbox funds and share a little with some other eskies in need!

Now....to tell the story of how the LunchBox Crew got its name! The August 1999 auction for Miss Jenny Valentine ended with a final bidding(plus one addon) just $33 short of the goal of $1100. Pat stepped forward with her Lacey and offered $1 each for the 4 dogs in the family.....asking also that 29 other eskies see if they can help out! Well...sure enough, the $33 WAS raised in no time flat! In fact, 2 creative eskies(Kona & Co.!) extorted the lunch money from their 4 cats in the family. (Silly canines!) All in all...it was these 29 dogs(and 4 cats) that rounded out the goal of that auction. By joining together in offering such a small amount EACH, it added up quickly, and made a big difference! Sooo..it was THIS incident that inspired this effort. Sometimes, sharing a little lunch with someone else is better than eating it all yourself! Afterall...dipping in for $1 a month shouldn't hurt most of us, and when we can all come together in this way, it can add up to help out in a BIG way! Thus....if we can all just "share our lunchbox" with others a little bit, the good that it's worth is far more valuable than the money ever could be to us! So.....yes, we're just asking that we all see if we can come up with $1 per dog(preferably each month), and help out some other eskies. OF course, you can donate to any worthy canine cause, but we've seen firsthand how much good these auctions have been doing and would very much appreciate if we could continue to make the auctions better all the time. The more items we have to auction, the better, and with a little "buying budget", Pat will make sure that it is spent wisely and well on items for the auction! Sooo..what do ya say.....$1 a dog......that's all it takes....come on and join us.....join the LunchBox Crew...and see all the good we can do, because we're doing it together!!!
