Wisconsin American
Eskimo Rescue has existed since March of 1999 and has placed
over 80 Eskies since that time. We cover Minnesota, Southern
Michigan, Wisconsin and Northern Illinois whenever called upon.
We have applied for 503C status and are expecting are tax id
number any day now! We are part of Wisconsin Dog Rescue which
provides a directory of rescues to all shelters in Wisconsin
and the surrounding states near Wisconsin borders. We use foster
homes and try to adopt in the general vicinity whenever possible
to allow for more frequent follow-up. We hold reunions twice
a year and just had one on December 12th. (see photo) We require
applications, references, contracts, initial home visits, follow-up
visits and at least 8 weeks of training for all dogs under one
year. We currently have 7 dogs available for adoption since we
do not adopt out between Dec. 15th and January 2nd. We received
a 5 month old girl with kennel cough and pneumonia from a shelter
in Ill. who is costing the rescue a significant amount in vet
bills as well as the need for quarantine for her and the other
two young Eskies the shelter sent with her. Funds from this auction
will help defray the costs for Holly, Ricco and Annie. We help
out other Eskie rescue groups whenever possible and last summer
flew an older pair of Eskies to Wisconsin from Florida and placed
them in fantastic homes. Please consider helping WAER. by bidding
