Auction Information for January 2000 Auction:

Since we had no dogs on the "dire need" dog list a short bit back, we decided to have a rescuER auction...an auction to help the people who rescue eskies regularly! It's taken awhile to have this all "develop," but it should be well worth the wait!

RescuER auction requirements are:
-Rescuers must be active in rescuing/fostering Eskies("The Dog Beautiful").
-Rescuers must "Bring Their Own Donations".
-Once they are a participant, ANYONE can donate on their behalf.
-Each rescuer gets 100% of the $$ raised by their donations and those donated TO them.
-ANYONE can donate to "general rescue".
-The general rescue $$ will be divided up between all the participants. Amount will be pro-rated to each rescuER's total. In other words, the "general total" will be divided by percentage of each rescuER's total, thus rescuers are rewarded for the time, donations, and effort they devoted to this auction. If things go well, we will consider having more rescuER auctions!

What is a rescuer? Though one could get into a lot of detail, as rescue work involves many angles and considerations, a simple description is that a rescuer is a person or group of people who "rescue" stray, surrendered, abandoned, abused, neglected, or otherwise "unwanted" dogs and cats from unfortunate situations in life! Thus, when animals are taken into "shelters" or other such local organizations, or sometimes brought right to the rescuers, it is the rescuers who are often the saving grace these animals so desperately need! As many are faced with the ultimatum of immediate "placement" or "euthanization," rescuers do their very best to help find new, loving homes for these formerly "unwanted" creatures! Fosters will "foster" a dog or cat until a "good" home can be found, thus buying a little more time, and possibly developing some social interaction for the animal prior to placement! Most rescuers are VERY particular about the homes they adopt to as they do NOT want to see these dogs and cats BACK out on the streets in yet another unloving instance! Just about everyone involved in rescue work is a firm believer in "responsible pet ownership" and they know all too well that if more people took that as what it is: a RESPONSILITY to care for the creatures God has put in our care, there would be far less need for the work they do, and they'd more than love to see EVERY dog, cat, and ALL creatures have loving, permanent homes! Rescue folks put LOTS of their own time and money into their efforts.....with one motive.....THEY CARE! They care about the dogs and cats they work with, and seek to give them what they so rightly deserve: A SECOND CHANCE TO LIVE A GOOD LIFE! And, this is why we are so proud to make THIS auction one that helps those who help give dogs(eskies in particular!) and other animals exactly what the very theme of these auctions is:

Giving Life a Second Chance!

So...to ALL the rescuERs involved in THIS auction, as well as those who are not.....we say THANK YOU! And, many, many, MANY dogs can give you the woofs and licks you so well deserve for giving them the chance to find a loving, permanent home! Please read about the rescuERs involved in this auction, and tell them THANKS for the work they do...with the high stress of rescue work, they need a heartfelt "appreciation" now and then!

1999 Auction Recap
Our auctions and raffles have proven very successful. We have raised $7,737 since the auctions started in July 1999. Everyone participating in the auctions should be very proud! You all deserve a "Good Boy or Good Girl" and a big treat! The number of auction packages have grown from 18 (our first auction, for Chance) to 52 (3Some Dec auction) and this special rescuER auction is 123 packages!

Michael is graciously hosting the auctions. It is a pleasure working with him and he NEVER hesitates to do anything I ask. He is constantly improving the website. We have discussed the site space needs for the auctions, and after some consideration have made some decisions! We prefer to keep the past auctions on the eskie.net website and not archive to another website. Due to the constant auction expansion, we will soon need more space. Though Michael has said he will continue to host the auctions and keep the site in order, even at his own expense, we decided that by maybe offering up an "occasional" site item that we can help him in the partial expenses for the site space! $10 a month will fund the space (and some possible features to help better the auctions) we need to allow auction expansion at eskie.net. Thus, we are donating 2 packages to "the site space". The high bids will determine how many months will be paid ($10 a month is the aim). Again....as noted, even without help, Michael intends to keep the auction site here, and by helping out a little bit, we can help him by not putting the "extra" expense for site expansion that will soon be necessary all on his back. Remember...he does ALL the page work and setup as well, and that's completely of his own time and talent! The "site items" are merely to help offset the extra expense of the site space needed! We will NOT be donating other items to the auction website until additional funds are needed. ALL funds raised for "site items" will be put toward the site space expense! (The "general" items up for auction this month will be divided among the rescuERs per the percentage of their final bids.....the "site space" funds are NOT included in this percentage dispersement! Whatever the site items raise is it.....the "general" item bids will NOT be dispersed in ANY percentage to the site space...it's for the rescuERs only!)

Valentine's Day is coming soon. Humans and our 4-legged fuzzies need their "Heart" gifts. There are plenty in this auction. I suggest not bidding until you review ALL the packages. Be sure to click on the description option for each individual item for close-up pix and detailed description. With 123 packages and LOTS of variety, you'll have plenty to look over and consider! Choose and bid carefully, but as always, remember....these auctions are here to help needy eskies, so don't forget your heart when you bid....an extra few $$$ for an item might just make the difference to a needy eskie one of these rescuERs takes in!

As always, thank you Michael for hosting the auctions at Eskie.net. Jill has volunteered to do the ending again. Thank you Jill.

If you have any questions or wish to donate a package to a future auction, email me at pcassel@pa.net
The next auction will be for a "dire need" Eskie. If you wish to donate but you dislike shopping, are too busy, or you don't know where to get doggie items,
email me. I got some GREAT buys on new Eskie items!! Perfect for $$ turnover in our auctions. You can double, triple+ your $$ donation. Good auction investments! Keeping items on hand insures the auctions WILL GO ON! You WILL be pleased with your donations.

Remember, we have a wish list. If you desire something, we will try to find it and list it in an auction.
If we can't find it, we may find someone to make it. Be careful what you wish for. Melinda got those
Doggie sized sailor hats in the 3Some auction. This auction has 2 UNSPOKEN wish list items. We LOVE to fill "wishes"! So, if you're considering buying an item, maybe spin it by us and if someone is willing to donate it to the auctions, you'll not only get the item you want(barring you're high bidder!), but you'll also be helping needy eskies out at the same time! That's a pretty cool win/win situation, so do consider it! :)

Address all other comments, questions, etc. to Pat Cassel at pcassel@pa.net !

This Auction is now over, but results will remain posted here!

Eskie (and Keesie) Hugs and Kisses, Love and Licks,
Pat and all the fuzzies in EsKeeVille!

Well...make it a great day! :)
