Auction Results and Item listing are on the "Listing" page!

Further Auction details are below AND on the other auction pages; recent results from the raffle to help Shannon!

Giving Life a Second Chance

This auction was held to help pay the veterinary bills of Shannon in her search to get her sight back, as well as to pay the remaining bills for Charley's distemper bout! Please read their stories to learn more about them and their circumstances. Shannon and Charley each have their own story pages, so don't miss out on either! We are continuing to support those who help others as well as honoring the spirit of those who have done so for these wonderful eskies! Together...we can all help out in...

Auction Details- August/September 2000

First, thank you "Just Julie" for donating the ORIGINAL Eskie print to us. She creates sketches for national shows, specialty shows, rescue groups, etc. She does sell customized original sketches privately. If you want a customized sketch, or need a fundraiser TO BENEFIT DOGS, contact Julie at TooManyDogz@aol.com. (Don't forget to tell her thanks for helping the Eskies out as well!) If you are looking for another breed sketch, check her gallery pages. "Meet" the artist at her "about the artist" page! She only signs her first name to her sketches, as she maintains that the dogs are the focus, not the artist. Thus she remains "JUST JULIE".

To show our appreciation to "Just Julie" for the ORIGINAL Eskie print and the opportunity to raise money for Eskie Shannon's eye surgery…..we searched for Black & Tan Coonhound items….and we found some!

Sketch fundraiser note….Shannon has $127 to date (8/29/00) from the prints, and more due in!

THANKS JULIE.....we really appreciate your involvement in our fundraising efforts!

A few changes this month….the donators are now noted on the "front" auction page. No need to sift thru all the items to find your donated packages. The dog breeds in the listing are not necessarily grouped "together".....you'll have to search for YOUR dogbreed items. Makes for more viewing, more fun! It's a treasure hunt! Some breed items this month are Coonhound, Poodle, Chinese Crested, Cocker Spaniel, Collie, Sheltie, Border Collie, Pom, Dachshund, Keeshond and of course the American Eskimo.

Be sure to check out the playing card deck, all different puppies! Who can resist a puppy!?!?! Puppies and dogs are miracle workers. They can reach the inner soul where you thought there was no soul to reach. Go visit a retirement or nursing home on pet therapy days! Hear people speak that haven't spoken for years! Dogs are not only our best friends, they are gifts from God. And gifts are best when shared, so share some "puppy love" with some who can use it!

Sleigh bells ring…are you listen'n? Ho! Ho! Ho! Christmas is right around the corner. Make it a win-win situation and do your shopping here! You must have dog fanciers on your Christmas list! (A little present "FROM me TO me" isn't always bad either...get yourself a little something!!!)

If you are NOT a subscriber to the eskie_owners mailing list, and wish to get nightly updates, drop me a note and I will gladly add you to the auction distribution list.

This auction closes at 10 PM eastern time on Thursday, September 14th, 2000. All bids must be SENT by 10 PM Eastern Time. I can receive them after 10 PM (Eastern Time), but they must be sent by 10 PM(Eastern). Winners will be announced the following evening. Your wins will be shipped after Jill (auction treasurer) receives your payment. Winners do NOT pay any shipping…shipping is also donated by the donators. 100% of the money will go to the dire need Eskies. Auction rules can be viewed on the rules page! Winners will be notified by e-mail. All auction payments are due within 30 days after I NOTIFY YOU as a winner. Payment may be made by check or money order in US funds only. Reminders will be sent out if needed. If there is a problem with payment, we will work with you. Just let me know.

If you wish to remain anonymous…maybe get a gorgeous gift for that special someone…and you don't want your name listed as the winner, no problem. I will honor your request. Just let me know.

If you wish to donate to future raffles or auctions, please contact me at pcassel@pa.net, and as always I keep packages on hand ($5 and up) to ensure the fundraisers go on. I realize several of you are too busy to "auction" shop or do not know where to get doggie items. Company discounts often enable me to offer great items at great prices. I only look for "good buys" or unique items. You only pay what I pay plus the shipping to the winner. Your $6 investment can turn into $30 in raised funds!

Be sure to read the stories and let your heart be your guide. This month's auction is being held for Eskiegirl Shannon and BridgePuppy Charley.

Shannon is blind from cataracts and needs surgery on both eyes. She has been adopted by Erin and Robert Harper, an active young PA couple that has another Eskie who is 12 yrs young. Shannon is very active herself for an 8 yr old furgirl. She just needs a new outlook on life that keeps her from stumbling and falling over things. Her sister kittycat doesn't appreciate being walked on. LOL! Erin and Robert have learned not to put anything new on the floor! Still…..Shannon goes with her family hiking and camping. Shannon does her best because she doesn't want left behind(remember..she's an ESKIE!). She wants to be with her family. They are planning to hike part of the Appalachian trail in Oct. Let's help Shannon see the rocks, the flowers, the trees and her BEAUTIFUL FAMILY!! Shanty was tested for Cushings and the results were neg. She had an eye specialist consultation on Aug 25th. Next, a test to make sure the surgery will help, and then the surgery. Her costs to date are $140 (to Shannon's personal vet, Erin already has paid), $169 for the Cushings test and $94 for the eye specialist consultation on Aug 25th. Her next appt is Sept 15th . Eye specialists costs are estimated at $1,800 ($1,500 for the surgery for both eyes). Read Shannon's story on her info page!

A small bill, $158, is outstanding for Charley (from the NC Mother and 2 puppies rescue). Charley, the 3 lb 8-week old female Eskie puppy, had distemper. The Mother, Muffin, has a forever home with Janet Boissy. The litter sister Cara, is lovingly owned by Amanda Rigsby and her husband. Unfortunately Charley didn't beat the dreadful distemper. She was so small and started have seizures. She only had a 5% chance of living, with perhaps permanent damage and most likely having seizures her complete life. Upon the advice of several vets, she was lovingly helped to the Bridge. Read her story at on
her info page!

Special thanks to the donators, the bidders, Michael (auction host/site work) and Jill (our ever dutiful "treasurer"). TOGETHER we all help in…..giving life a second chance!

Eskie Hugs & Kisses, Love & Licks,
Pat- and the "canine crew"- Eskies Jazzy & Mina, Keeshonden Lacey & Tucker
(other wise known as the Doggie Train, Tucker gets Lacey, Lacey gets Tucker, Jazzy tugs on Lacey's tail, Mina pulls on Jazzy's tail and I never have a camera in hand when it happens! Puppy Tucker has surely livened up our "dog house")!

P.S.--The auction is just starting and we are already at $7. THANK YOU VERY MUCH Carolyn Doll!
