A Special Christmas
for Suki! |
|
Giving Life a Second
Chance
This auction was
held for Suki, who was recently returned to her mother to live
out her life in the home where she is loved. Suki has heart problems
and is on special medications; her mother, Alice, was not able
to afford the medication herself to continue to provide for Suki,
and Alice thought she'd have to give Suki up. Well...thanks to
IMOM and others, Suki has returned to
her loving home and we are all joining together to help Suki
and her mother out so that she can continue to afford the medications
Suki needs. Please read Suki's
story as it's a heart
tugger for sure! With the help of IMOM and all of us, we can share in the joy of knowing
that Suki and her family were indeed able to know a VERY special
Christmas this year!Together...we can all help out in...
Giving Life a Second
Chance... |
We were not planning another
auction till January, but events have unfolded. Other Eskiers
and I feel a strong desire to help Suki. Our "own"
Kitten played a big role in reuniting Suki with her Mommy!
Suki is not an Eskie but she
is white :-)! However...we can make her an "honorary Eskie"
and help IMOM in giving her a second chance at
life.
To see the fuller version
of Suki's story, please
visit the page on IMOM's site!
However...basically,
Suki suffers from heart problems and the vet has prescribed medication,
which happens to be rather expensive.....at least too expensive
for Suki's mother to handle. In fact, against her wishes, Alice(Suki's
mother), decided that instead of letting Suki die because she
couldn't afford the medication, she would have to take her into
the local shelter and pray that someone, somehow "could"
indeed afford the medication and give Suki the chance to live
a decent life. Trust us, if you read the full story on IMOM's
pages, you'll see
how much this means!
Alice had given
Suki up in the hopes that Suki could have a better life than
Alice could provide! Now...how many of US could do such a thing???
Though one might question whether she was doing the right thing.....it
turns out she DID do the right thing! There IS a happy ending
to the story! See....Kitten Jones(all breed as well as Eskie
rescuer from Florida) was informed of this, and with her networking,
IMOM was informed of this. IMOM was so touched by the story that
$50/month was pledged toward Suki's bills! This allowed Suki
to be reunited with her mother(and sister companion!). Now...this
is definitely a story full of tears.....but it is also a story
of joy and sharing.....one that rings so true at this special
time of year! With Alice and both her dogs together now, they
can have a Christmas so much more special than they could have
imagined!
BUT....we can't
rest on this! Suki's bills are continual, and IMOM has been very
gracious to help Suki out, so we want to help IMOM out by offering
up this "special Christmas auction". No....it's not
for an eskie(but we are dubbing Suki an "honorary eskie"
due to this!), but one important eskie rescuer was instrumental
in reuniting the small family, AND more importantly....all you
have to do is merely look in your OWN dog's eyes! And remember.....Suki
means as much to Alice as OUR dogs do to US! How many of us could
take the brave step of letting a loved one "go" in
hopes that they could enjoy a better life than we could provide!?!?
And not forgetting...love
is truly shown in our actions! We can love with our hearts, but
it doesn't make nearly as much difference to others as when we
love with our ACTIONS! And, with these auctions, we are
taking a small step in making our actions speak with the love
that we have in our hearts! Let us all join together in sharing
love in ALL our actions...it can be a truly beautiful world when
we do this....and what better time to share our love than Christmas
time? Help us help Suki have the most special Christmas ever.....
Lots of Hugs and Kisses, Love
and Licks,
Suki, her Mommy and Pat |
