First, our "prize" was Dog Dish Stand. This is a "basic" stand as offered by us at Eskie Pages. For further details on these dish stands, you can see the product page we have setup. However, basically, as you can see in the image below, this is a wooden(no stain or varnish finish) dish stand. It includes 4(2 of each) dishes with the stand. Stand size is 16" long, 8" wide(deep), and 8" high. There is a spot for one 1 quart dish, and one spot for one 1 pint size dish. We include TWO of each size dish, and they are stainless steel. Well taken care of, this unit should last for many, many years! Again, for further details, you can see the product page we have setup. We are offering 1 dish stand as a prize(including the 4 dishes), and this included shipping to prize winner!

OK....for our Featured Donation, we again returned to the fund that got this contest idea rollling! The Jake Fund, which was our first donation in May 1998 was again our donation for our May 1999 contest. And, as usual, we offered our $10 donation directly to Heart Bandits to use for the Jake Fund. For those unfamiliar, The Jake Fund was setup to help pay for "extraordinary veterinary expenses" involved in HB rescue cases. Of course, the fund takes its name from a darling little eskie named Jake. To read his story and learn more about the Jake Fund, please see The Jake Fund Pages at Heart Bandits!
All right....and for the results...This month's "theme" was "Eskie Theme Songs". Not really a question, but more an idea. We wanted to know what YOUR eskie's theme song might be. What would be a good song for an eskie to have as a "theme song". Not sure if the idea really made sense to some, but we did get some great ideas sent in, and appreciated all the input! For our winner, we chose Cindy Becker's entry of "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah". Yeh...we know, it's kinda silly, but that's just what we loved about it...it's happy, carefree, and awfully contagious....kinda like our beloved eskies! Plus, most of us are familiar with the song, as it was featured in the Disney film Song of the South. We had some other great entries, but this one is just sooo "eskie-ish" in many ways that we couldn't resist choosing it! Now...just try NOT singing it! My oh my, what a wonderful dog! :)
Some other neat ideas were "Born to be with You" by the Chordettes, Let a Smile Be Your Umbrella(no artist mentioned), and "Beautiful Boy"(of course, sung as "Beautiful Dog") by John Lennon. Actually, many songs of devotion and appreciation can apply to our eskies! One we thought of during the contest ourselves was "Love's Been Following You" by Twila Paris....one of the most beautiful songs ever, and though done as a religious song, it is also one of the most inspiring songs! If you ever get a chance, take a listen to it! And, whenever you here a song of devotion or appreciation, we're sure your eskie(s) could certainly come to mind! And, then, we've got our "carefree" Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah dogs! Can't help but smile at the thought, and that's what makes our eskies such "wonderful dogs"! Gotta love 'em...and, besides giving thanks to everyone for their entries, we thank Cindy for sending us the winning "theme song" idea! Cindy, of course, then is the winner of this month's prize of the Dog Dish Stand!
