Jamie's FunPage!

Welcome!

" Jamie"

 Amity's Calamity Jane

Jamie is a miniature "blue" poodle. "Miniature" is a medium sized poodle. "Blue" is essentially black, but in the "right light" can give off a blue tint. A good "blue" is a beautiful coat! Jamie's full name is "Amity's Calamity Jane", though her call name is just "Jamie". She was born September 14th, 1989, from a litter of 3 pups out of a Jacob/Julie breeding. Jacob(Amity's I Shot the Sheriff) was an outstanding dog, with Can, Am., and at least one other National Championship. A very dark "blue", in full coat, he was a great dog to see indeed! I worked at the kennel where Jamie comes from at the time and it was when she was about a year old that I began taking her home with me at times and came to own her shortly thereafter. She had become my kennel "helper" while I was scrubbing floors, doing the dishes, etc. and that bond has only gotten stronger ever since. Jamie was shown in Canada until she got her Canadian Championship, but was only shown in the US as a "filler". Not long after "finishing" in Canada, she was retired, fixed, and has merely been a devoted companion ever since!

At the top of this page is a picture of Jamie from early '92, when she was still in "show coat". Below is a photo of her and "Eeyore" from late '93, when she was shaved down. It's cute how she's "hugging" Eeyore below. Some of her favorite toys are stuffed animals, especially a little "leopard", but I don't have any good pictures of her with that one. In '94 I started letting her coat grow out more and grooming her myself. I have since kept her in a "pseudo-puppy" coat, which is one of my favorite coats on a poodle. As she gets older, I'll revert to just shaving her down again, but as long as she likes looking nice and doesn't mind the grooming, the puppy coat fits us both well.

Below is a picture of Jamie "looking out the window" in early '92, again when she was in full show coat. She still loves looking out windows, getting a good nap, being goofy, getting belly rubs, and cuddling. She also enjoys tussling with her sister, Shelby (the eskie) at times. I wish I had a good picture of the two of them together, but I don't yet. If I get one, I will most definitely post it here. Seeing Shelby and Jamie stand side-by-side looking out the window is really a neat scene!

Jamie is just a great dog to have. Though I've really fallen for the Eskies as a breed, I will always appreciate what a great dog a good poodle can be. So, Jamie, thanks for being such a great companion......

Well...make it a great day! :)
