Eskie Pages- Eskie & Dog Items

Well, we are starting humbly, but hope to add more in the future. In time, we plan to be offering pet portraits, unique canine wooden cutouts, and more interesting eskie/dog stuff. Our first offering here is described below.

 Dog Dish Stands!

Shelby waiting for the dishes to be filled!

These are custom made units and we can make variations and/or special setups if so desired. Our "basic" unit is much like the units we've used for Jamie and Shelby for the past couple of years. We make the units out of pine boards for the legs, and usually use 3/8 or 1/2" plywood for the "table" surface. In this, we cut out the two holes for the dishes. We stick to a fairly "basic", but practical design....we're now making the legs of an "angled" rather than "curvy" design, which is more practical, safe, and makes for less wasted wood in the making! But, then, that's what matters when it comes to feeding stations....practicality!

We do NOT put on a finish or paint the basic units. We prefer them to be just plain wood, in case a dog would want to "chew" on a corner, then they are not consuming any chemicals! Plus, we have been hearing a lot about "wooden cutting boards" being better at killing bacteria than the plastic or coated kinds, so leaving the wood(though smoothly sanded) plain is, in our opinion, ideal! In the two years Jamie and Shelby have used similar units, there have been no problems in any respects. (We have recently been offering the "option" of a sprayed clear varnish that is non-toxic. We haven't had any troubles with this, but it is an option, and not a given. Doesn't cost anything extra...just ask that we "give it a clear coat". So, if you DO prefer a finish, we can now do that, or, you can always put any coat on it you might like as well!)

Though the above image is for the "basic" stand, please see further below for "optional" styles of stands!

Of course, one of the biggest advantages to using dish stands is to "elevate" the food, so dogs are not bending over nearly as much to eat. This helps digestion, and is easier on the bones and joints of older dogs! We've also found that it helps keep the dishes "in place", instead of sliding around the floor as the dog eats. Since we have two similar units, it also has made for having "stations"...Jamie has one and Shelby has one, and though side by side, they know which one is which! We initially made units that have two different size dishes and also found this to be a great feature. The larger quart size is for water, while the smaller pint size is for food in each stand. This helps keep the dishes specific, and allows for a larger water dish than food dish. With two dogs, this is even more handy!

Features of the basic dish stand:

16" wide, 8" deep, and 8" high!

One place for 1 quart size dish, and one for 1 pint size dish.

Dishes are stainless steel and we include not just one for each spot, but TWO. Thus, you get TWO quart size dishes and TWO pint size dishes with the unit! This allows you to have "spares" and also so that you can have one set in the sink while using the other!

Price for one basic unit is $25, including shipping within the US(there will be a bit extra shipping elsewhere, so contact us first if outside the US). Remember, this price includes the stand, 4 dishes(two for EACH spot), AND shipping within the US! For further ordering information, check out our "ordering page".

We can make custom units, including those with larger dishes, different heights, etc. Thus, if you have special needs, drop us a line, and we'll work on a custom order. Pricing will be a bit different, but you can roughly figure $10 PER "pint" station, $15 PER "quart" station(or hole) for each dish stand(larger dishes and/or units may be more). Thus, a unit with spaces for two 1 quart size dishes and maybe 9" high would run about $30. Two "pint" size stations AND a middle "quart" size station in the SAME unit(like picture shown below) would run $35.00(10+10+15). These costs also include shipping within the US, AND ALL dish stands get two dishes for each hole, so you get spares, and not just the bare minimum! We can also make other "custom" formats too, so feel free to drop us a line on anything you'd like! So...if you've got special needs, let us know and we'll work on it!

Three "station" dish stand...two feed dishes and one water dish in middle(this is actually a photo of the one recently made for Jamie and Shelby....and it's working just fine for them!)

And, keep checking back to see when we add other eskie/dog related items!

Well...make it a great day! :)
