'77 Jeep J10 Pickup
Jeep #4 was also Pickup #1. This is a most unique Jeep for sure. Longbed, with an old(early/mid 60s style) Chevy box on it. 6 cylinder, 3 speed, manual steering. Mostly a plain Jane, it has also been a most dependable vehicle. The reliable 258 inline 6 AMC engine is a strong point for sure! GREAT engines! Below is a series of pictures.....top two are from when I got it in early '97. The bottom one is summer of '97 after I'd repainted the box and put a topper on it. Turned out pretty cool, huh!
The guy I bought this from was an older fella who didn't like the manual steering. He'd put in heavy plywood in the box, so the box was really solid! Plain white Jeep 6 lug wheels(though somewhat rusty) on this. With the Chevy box on it, I was able to put a regular topper on it. Jeep beds were just a wee bit smaller than Ford/Chevy type boxes, so this worked out fine. I painted the box plain black as the paint was cheap. The front of the truck, and the original color is that metallic dark green. I put a complete new exhaust on this in early '97, prior to really using it as well. This has been a great truck and I wish they were all this dependable!
