Hermann Dudley Murphy This page is basic information on Hermann Dudley Murphy, Nellie's second husband. Unfortunately, as with Nellie, information is not in abundance, but we provide what we can and hope that it can be added to in time! Hermann Dudley Murphy was born in 1867 and died in 1945. He was a painter and frame-maker in the Boston, Massachusetts area. He attended the Boston Museum school, and studied at the Academie Julien, Paris. He taught at Harvard School of Architecture and Worcester Art Museum School. Murphy and his second wife(Nellie) shared a life-long interest in deck-seat canoeing. Though he most evidently produced more works, we only have information on a couple. One is a "Seated Nude", which we have no sample of. The one in the upper left of this page we do not have details on. Yet another is "White Roses and Pewter Vase", an oil on canvas that is shown below:
In time, we hope we can add to these pages, but this is what we have right now. If anyone knows of any information on Nellie or Hermann, PLEASE drop us a line via our email or contact information.
