Twin Ports: Duluth/Superior

We have been able to call Duluth home in our time, and though we're a bit south of the Twin Ports in Northern Wisconsin now, there is always a fond love for the Twin Ports that will stay with us!

Sitting at the "head of the lakes" on the most inland stretch of Lake Superior, Duluth and Superior have grown up together, seeing both the rise of the shipping industry(which coincided with the Iron Range mining boom in northern Minnesota) to the decline of the industry to a stabilization and diversification of industry over the past few decades. Both cities take great pride in their history as well as the natural beauty and attributes to the area.

A trip to Duluth and/or Superior can prove to be a most wonderful adventure. Afterall, you can do so much in this area, and yet be right at home in no time flat. Mostly, the people are pretty down to earth and are proud of their towns, so ask any Duluthian what there is to do in Duluth, and you'll probably be sorry you asked. Remember...there's a lot of friendly Scandinavian blood in these folks and they are more than glad to tell you about the many great things to do and see here! :)

Duluth, also known as the "Zenith City", is the larger of the two, and usually gets the most notoriety, but Superior, also referred to as "Soup Town"(because of common fog overhangs!) has a lot to offer residents as well as visitors.

From many large parks within city limits to "The Bridge" to the Zoo to the annual running of the Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon to the Annual Blues Fest Music Event to a visit to the "Spaceship like" Public Library to just digging out of a snow storm....there is no end of neat things to see and do in the area. A refreshing vacation can be found in the Twin Ports, but a great place to call "home" is what many can find here.

Below are some links to other pages on information about Duluth/Superior, where you can find out even more, but we definitely wanted to share our appreciation for the area with everyone!
